Privacy and Personal Data Processing Policy

This Privacy and Personal Data Processing Policy sets out how the personal data of users of the WoW Lore Quiz website, available at https://wowlorequiz.ru, is processed and protected.

This Policy has been prepared in accordance with Federal Law of the Russian Federation No. 152-FZ of July 27, 2006, “On Personal Data.”

1. General provisions

1.2. WoW Lore Quiz is a fan project that allows users to take quizzes, create an account, save game progress, participate in game modes, view statistics, and use a personal profile.

1.3. By using the website, creating an account, or submitting forms on the website, the user confirms that they have read this Policy.

1.4. If the user does not agree to this Policy, they must stop using the website.

1.5. WoW Lore Quiz is not an official Blizzard Entertainment website and is not affiliated with Blizzard Entertainment.

2. Data we process

2.1. The controller may process the following user data:

• email address;
• nickname;
• encrypted password or password hash;
• IP address;
• browser, device, and operating-system information;
• technical cookies;
• date and time of registration;
• date and time of sign-in;
• quiz statistics;
• game results;
• user achievements;
• PvE and PvP activity data;
• other data that the user voluntarily provides while using the website.

2.2. The controller does not collect special categories of personal data, including information about health, political views, religion, nationality, biometric data, or other special categories of data.

2.3. The controller does not request passport details, residential addresses, banking information, or other information that is not required for the website to operate.

3. Purposes of personal data processing

3.1. Users’ personal data is processed for the following purposes:

• user registration and authentication;
• creation and maintenance of user accounts;
• displaying nicknames and game profiles;
• saving progress, results, achievements, and statistics;
• operating the website’s game modes;
• providing personal profile functionality;
• protecting the website against abuse, spam, hacking, and unfair conduct;
• providing technical support to users;
• handling user inquiries;
• improving the website;
• complying with the laws of the Russian Federation.

3.2. The controller does not use users’ personal data for unlawful mailings, sale to third parties, or disclosure to advertising networks without a lawful basis.

4. Legal grounds for processing

4.1. Personal data is processed on the basis of:

• the user’s consent to personal data processing;
• the need to provide the website’s functionality to the user;
• the need to perform the User Agreement, if such an agreement is published on the website;
• the requirements of the laws of the Russian Federation.

4.2. The user gives consent by selecting the relevant checkbox during registration or by taking other actions that clearly confirm their consent to personal data processing.

5. Cookies and technical data

5.1. The website may use cookies and similar technologies to:

• keep users signed in;
• ensure that the website functions correctly;
• maintain security;
• remember user settings;
• analyze the website’s technical performance;

6. Processing and storage

6.1. The controller collects, records, organizes, accumulates, stores, updates, uses, transfers, blocks, deletes, and destroys personal data.

6.2. Personal data is stored no longer than necessary for the purposes of processing, or until the user deletes their account, withdraws consent, or the website ceases to operate.

6.3. When an account is deleted, the user’s personal data is deleted or anonymized unless the laws of the Russian Federation require otherwise.

6.4. Where the law requires certain data to be retained, that data is stored for the period prescribed by law.

7. Disclosure to third parties

7.1. The controller does not sell or disclose users’ personal data to third parties for commercial purposes.

7.2. Data may be disclosed only in the following circumstances:

• the user has consented to the disclosure;
• the disclosure is necessary for the website to operate, for example to a hosting provider;
• the disclosure is required by law or by a lawful request from an authorized public authority;
• the disclosure is necessary to protect the rights and legitimate interests of the controller or website users.

7.3. The website may use the services of a hosting provider, domain registrar, analytics providers, spam-protection services, and other technical contractors.

7.4. When using third-party services, the controller takes reasonable steps to select reliable providers but is not responsible for third-party websites and services that users visit independently.

8. Personal data protection

8.1. The controller takes the necessary organizational and technical measures to protect personal data against unlawful access, destruction, alteration, blocking, copying, distribution, and other unlawful actions.

8.2. These measures may include:

• restricting access to administrative sections of the website;
• using passwords and access controls;
• storing passwords in encrypted or hashed form;
• regularly updating software;
• backing up data;
• protecting against unauthorized access;
• monitoring the website’s technical status.

8.3. Users are responsible for keeping their sign-in details secure and must not disclose their password to third parties.

9.3. The request must contain enough information to identify the user, such as the email address used to register on the website.

10. Withdrawal of consent and account deletion

10.1. Users may withdraw their consent to personal data processing at any time.

10.2. To withdraw consent, users may email wowlorequiz@yandex.com.

10.3. After receiving the request, the controller stops processing the user’s personal data and deletes or anonymizes it unless continued storage is required by law.

10.4. Withdrawing consent may make it impossible to continue using the account and website features related to saved progress, statistics, achievements, and the game profile.

11. Minors’ data

11.1. The website is not specifically intended to collect minors’ personal data.

11.2. Minors must use the website with the consent of a parent or legal representative.

11.3. If the controller becomes aware that a minor’s personal data was provided without the consent of a parent or legal representative, the controller may delete that data.

12. Changes to this Policy

12.1. The controller may amend this Policy.

12.2. A new version of the Policy takes effect when it is published on the website unless the new version states otherwise.

12.3. Users are advised to review the current version of the Policy periodically.
